Athletic participation is unique for its contribution to the moral and physical development of each student. Being involved in athletics provides students the opportunity to develop leadership skills, and to learn the ideals of fair play and ethical behavior. Oakwood expects the highest quality of individual behavior of its student athletes, both on and off campus.

Oakwood provides athletes the opportunity to participate in a competitive sports league beginning in the sixth grade. Middle school sports include:

Oakwood's programs allow all who are interested to join a team that is offered in their grade level. Primary objectives are to instill in students the values of sportsmanship, dedication, and self-discipline. Oakwood School encourages all students to participate in extra-curricular athletics by offering a well-rounded program. Historically, 70% of the students are members of at least one team. Our mission is to provide competitive opportunities that emphasize the lifelong values of sportsmanship, individual effort, teamwork, dedication, and integrity.
