Oakwood High School Club Raises Funds for Local Cancer Patients

Oakwood High School's Healing Humanity Club wrapped up their year-long weekly fundraising efforts by traveling to Palo Alto to present Lucile Packard Children's Hospital Stanford with the club's yearly donation.

The club raised $426 for the Children's Fund, which provides support to families who would otherwise be unable to pay for their child's medical care. To date, the club has donated over $4,500 to the Children's Fund. The club also raised $928 for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society through the annual school-wide coin drive.

The Healing Humanity Club's mission is to raise monetary funds for local pediatric cancer patients and volunteer at local hospitals. The two club founders, Roxanne and Talia, also brought along next year's presidents for a meeting with the club's Lucile Packard representative to begin planning next year's events.
