Dr. Josh Watson is a seasoned educator and former head of school with 25 years of experience in education. Fittingly for this role, he began his career as a middle school Latin teacher, after receiving a B.A. in Humanities from the University of Northern Iowa and an M.A. in Classics from the University of Colorado. He next taught Latin and English at the University of Denver High School.

The large majority of his professional life has been spent teaching and leading in independent schools in Hawai‘i. Over his 20 years in independent schools in Honolulu, he was the Head of School of La Pietra – Hawai‘i School for Girls; Assistant Principal at Mid-Pacific Institute; Assistant Head of School and Dean of Students at Academy of the Pacific; and College Counselor and Teacher at University Laboratory School. He holds a Master of Education (M.Ed.) in Educational Leadership and a Doctor of Education (Ed.D.) in Professional Educational Practice, both from the University of Hawai'i.
