Ashley Tuttle begins her second year at Oakwood with 16 years of experience teaching middle school history. She currently teaches sixth- and seventh-grade history and created Oakwood’s Middle School International Travel Program and accompanying travel elective, providing students with opportunities to extend their learning beyond the classroom through meaningful global experiences.
In the past, Mrs. Tuttle has served as a sixth-grade history teacher and instructional coach, specializing in technology integration and pedagogy. She has presented at the Association for Middle Level Education (AMLE) on transforming students from consumers to creators using the SAMR Model.
Creator of the “Museum Project,” Mrs. Tuttle has also built a network of educators dedicated to a skills-based approach to learning. She is a strong advocate for developing critical thinking, communication, collaboration, and other essential skills students need to thrive in today’s AI-driven world.
Passionate about experiential learning, Mrs. Tuttle has led student travel experiences to the Azores, Italy, the United Kingdom, France, and Washington, D.C. She believes some of the most meaningful learning happens when students have opportunities to experience history, culture, and the world beyond the classroom.
Mrs. Tuttle holds a B.A. in History from California Baptist University and an M.S. in Teaching and Learning with an emphasis in K–12 Technology Integration from Colorado State University.
