Jackie Matthews moved to Morgan Hill with her husband and two children in 1981 to run a family business making high-tech sheet metal parts for the booming Silicon Valley. When her husband passed away, it was time to look for her retirement job. She came to Oakwood School to ease her way into retirement and has enjoyed her retirement job so much, she is now in her nineteenth year! Mrs. Matthews has served in several capacities, beginning in Admissions, and progressing to positions in the high school. She feels fortunate to have worked for all of Oakwood High School’s principals and is now pleased to serve in her current position as High School Student Support Coordinator in the Student Center. She loves watching Oakwood students become their authentic selves as they spread their wings and become dynamic community members. Mrs. Matthews plans to spend the remainder of her retirement enjoying family, reading, gardening, and traveling, but not yet!
