Coach Derek Jensen is the Upper School Physical Education teacher, Upper School Assistant Athletics Director, and Varsity Volleyball Coach at Oakwood School. He also serves as the Varsity Basketball Coach at Christopher High School and has previously coached football, golf, and badminton. Mr. Jensen holds an Associate of Arts in Sports Medicine from Gavilan College, a Bachelor of Arts in Kinesiology from California State University, Monterey Bay, and a Master of Arts in Coaching and Athletics Administration from Concordia University, Irvine. He has a passion for teaching and a love for building relationships with all students and athletes. Coach Jensen's primary goal is to help students gain a life long love for fitness in any form. In his spare time, he enjoys spending time with his family, savoring chocolate, traveling, and basketball and baseball.
