4th Grade

A pivotal year, fourth grade is a time of extreme growth. Learning to read transforms into reading to learn.

Truly a bridge spanning the social, emotional, and cognitive gap between young child and a tween, fourth graders are ready for more.

They willingly work to meet the newly raised bar, often becoming more self-conscious and self-critical as peer influences become more important. Creativity and ideas explode from them even as they complain about aches and pains and the unfairness of an unjust world. Fourth graders love wordplay and exaggeration – and if you feel sometimes that you live with a master negotiator, you may have a fourth grader.
