Oakwood is committed to partnering with families to put an exceptional education within reach through merit scholarships and need-based financial aid, for those that qualify. Our mission is to promote academic excellence by educating outstanding students, regardless of financial resources, and to provide access to the education that helps all students reach their full potential.

Oakwood is a not-for-profit educational institution fully accredited by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC) which is generally accepted as the highest standard of accreditation in the Western United States for both public and private educational institutions.

Merit Scholarships

Oakwood provides merit scholarships to new students entering grades 6 through 11 for academic excellence, outstanding citizenship, and positive contribution to the school and community. Scholarships are merit-based and not need-based. Currently enrolled Oakwood students are not eligible to apply for merit scholarships.

The Oakwood Scholarship Program is designed to make it possible for top students to attend Oakwood. Scholarships are granted by recommendation of the Scholarship Committee, after interviews with the candidates and review of their qualifications. Scholarship applications are accepted for students who are new to the school, and are submitted as part of the Admissions application. Applications submitted by the deadline receive full consideration, and all awards are confidential.

Criteria:

Outstanding academic standing and citizenship record at current school
Extracurricular activities with a positive contribution to the school or community
Apply for admission and merit scholarship by Friday, January 9, 2026 (high school) or Friday, April 3, 2026 (middle school)

Scholarship awards range from $1,000 to $16,000 per year, and recipients complete a renewal process annually.

Financial Aid

Oakwood is pleased to be able to offer financial aid to qualifying families who would otherwise not be able to attend Oakwood. While Oakwood’s financial aid budget is limited, we encourage families who need assistance to apply. The financial aid application is managed separately from the general admissions process, however both must be done during the admissions season if a family anticipates the need for aid. Aid applications are submitted directly to Clarity, a third-party vendor, who verifies the financial data provided by each family.

Financial Aid is available for Oakwood students beginning in Kindergarten. Oakwood does not provide financial aid for students in Preschool and Junior Kindergarten.

Financial Assistance Process for Prospective Families

Begin the general admissions application.
Submit a financial aid application and tax documents through Clarity at oakwoodway.org/aid.
Receive notification of any aid awarded at the time of the admissions decision. Please note that eligibility for admission to Oakwood is determined entirely independent of the aid application submitted.
