FTC Robotics Competition

FTC is an international robotics competition organized by FIRST (For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology). In this class, we’ll design, build, and program a 40 pound industrial robot. We’ll then drive and control this robot at tournaments, battling in a 2 vs. 2 alliance format to meet this year’s game objectives. No experience is necessary: bring your own interests and talents in arts, design, technology, video games, or presenting in order to help our team succeed. Attendance at two scheduled weekend competitions is mandatory; occasional build sessions and team events will be held outside school hours, and attendance is encouraged. Come learn why other FIRST teams have described this competition as the “hardest fun ever!” For more information on FIRST, go to: firstinspires.org/robotics/fll/challenge-and-season-info. (On your selection form for Trimesters 1&2 PM, please select FTC Robotics as your first choice, and then select your second, third, and fourth selections, in case Robotics is full.)

Note: Participation in this class is a 2-trimester commitment - Trimester 1& 2 PM. The one-time fee covers both trimesters. FIRST Tech Challenge competition rules limit participation to 7th and 8th grade.
