Junior Kindergarten Curriculum
Junior Kindergarten students are the adventurers of the Oakwood community. Friendly and effervescent, they enjoy experimenting with language, being read to, and acting out stories.
A happy balance of structured learning and exploration makes Junior Kindergarten at Oakwood School a joyful place to be!
Much of the learning at this age is through the large muscles, so in addition to fine motor practice and pre-reading activities, junior kindergarten students are given ample opportunity to run, jump, cycle, climb, and dance. Learning takes place through a hands-on, multi-sensory approach at each level.
Oakwood’s breadth and depth of curriculum set it apart among various educational opportunities. The curriculum is solid, time tested, and continually reviewed to assure that we have the best resources to make learning come alive for our students.
