Admissions Timeline:

Oakwood school's priority deadline was on January 9, 2026. We are pleased to offer a Secondary Deadline for families who are still interested in applying for the 2026–2027 school year:

Upper School (Grades 6–12):
Submit your application and all supplemental documents by February 1 to receive an admissions decision on March 13, alongside Priority Deadline applicants.
Lower School (Preschool–Grade 5):
Submit your application and all supplemental documents by February 20 to receive an admissions decision on March 13, alongside Priority Deadline applicants.

After these dates, applications transition to rolling admissions, reviewed as space allows. Applicants are welcome and encouraged to apply; however, decisions for applications submitted after the secondary deadline will be released after March 13.

Families who applied by the Priority Deadline (January 9, 2026) must submit all supplemental documents (see below under application requirements) by February 1, 2026 to complete the application process.

Application Requirements

Preschool/Junior Kindergarten

Online admissions application ($75 fee)

Meet age requirements (preschool students must be 3 years old, and JrK students must be 4 years old by November 30)
Child must be fully potty trained by entrance date
Teacher recommendation (for applicants who are currently enrolled in a preschool program)
Parent interview with the Preschool & Junior Kindergarten Director or Lower School Head & Principal

Kindergarten

Online admissions application ($100 fee^)*

Assessment appointment with an Oakwood teacher

*Please note that applicants to Kindergarten must have these items submitted in order to schedule an assessment appointment and parent interview, so we encourage you to submit these items as soon as possible.

^Oakwood is committed to partnering with families to put an exceptional education within reach through need-based financial aid for those that qualify. If the application fee is a financial hardship for your family, please contact the Admissions Office to inquire about a fee waiver.

1st Grade

*Please note that applicants to 2nd-5th Grade must have these items submitted in order to schedule a shadow visit and parent interview, so we encourage you to submit these items as soon as possible.

6th – 8th Grade (Middle School)

Academic transcripts (two years plus current year grades as available)
Admissions exam hosted at Oakwood's campus*
- Priority and secondary deadline applicants will take the exam on January 24, 2026
- Admissions will contact applicants applying after January 19, 2026 to schedule their exam
Student Admissions Interview (via Zoom)
- Interviews for Priority and Secondary Deadline applicants will take place on February 7-12, 2026
- Admissions will contact applicants applying after February 1 to schedule their interview

*Students may submit the ISEE in lieu of Oakwood's entrance exam. Scores must be received by February 10, 2026.

9th – 12th Grade (High School)

International Students

Oakwood School welcomes applications from students outside the United States, and appreciates the diversity that these students bring. In order to ensure the best possible program for these students and their families, Oakwood has partnered with Cambridge Network. The Cambridge Networks’s international student program prepares students for life abroad prior to arriving at Oakwood and continues to provide international students and their families with on-going support throughout the school year.
