Elementary School

By first grade, your child is ready to delve deeper. The standard school day for Elementary (1st-5th grade) is from 8:00am-3:05pm. Starting in first grade, Oakwood students take classes from expert teachers in drama, Spanish, science, art, music, and PE, along with their daily lessons in language arts, math, and history. Students also take technology readiness and coding.

Ist Grade

Application Overview

In addition to the standard online application managed through the Admissions Portal, the following items are required:

  • Records: Report card from prior year plus current year as available
  • Assessment appointment with Oakwood teacher
  • Teacher recommendation (online form within Admissions Portal)
  • Family interview for applicant and parent(s) with Lower School Head & Principal
  • 2nd-5th grade

    Application Overview

    In addition to the standard online application managed through the Admissions Portal, the following items are required:

  • Records: two years of report cards plus current year as available, and standardized test scores
  • Shadow visit: two-day shadow visit required; general assessments done by teachers during visit; includes brief meeting for applicant with Lower School head
  • Teacher recommendation
  • Student Questionnaire completed by 4th & 5th grade applicants
  • Parent interview with Lower School Head & Principal

  • Merit-based scholarship (eligibility starting at 4th grade) and financial aid applications must be submitted along with general application.
