Rochan Kavulli '24

After graduating from Oakwood in 2024, I took that summer to hang out with friends and relax before heading off to college. Currently, I dorm with my twin brother at USC and I've been having a great time.

When I'm not running into previous Oakwood Alumni, I'm a part of club water polo, an electrical engineering research lab, and a podcast covering energy transitions. We've interviewed incredibly interesting people like President Obama's Secretary of Energy, President Trump's Secretary of Energy, and a Nobel Peace Prize Winner.

I'm also part of the USC Rocket Propulsion Lab, which I was inspired to join after seeing Oakwood's SSE club, where I camped in the freezing Nevada Desert (and saw my first rocket launch!). We broke the amateur rocketry world record but more importantly I tried the best raviolis ever at Bruno’s Country Club in the middle of nowhere.

This past summer I worked with a space telecommunication startup as a hardware engineering intern.
