Greetings, alums. Greetings, my friends.

My wife and I have moved to New Hampshire. We are finally moved in. Our new town, Amherst, is birthplace of Horace Greeley. We went East to the home of the man who told America to go West. Go figure.

Retirement has benefits, but I do miss being with Oakwood students.

My heart (yes, I have one) is warmed when I see information about your lives and accomplishments. That you all have achieved much comes as no surprise to me. Well done.

I am working on a book about teaching English. Working title: English Professors I’ve Met While Yachting. It will be mind-numbingly serious.

Below is what I saw today outside my back window.
