Third Grade Students Raise Money by doing Chores for Thanks & Giving Holiday Drive

Each year Oakwood School holds a Thanks & Giving food drive to collect food for those in need. As part of this tradition, the third grade earns money at home by doing chores for family, friends, and neighbors to collectively use toward purchasing food for the drive. Chores have included doing yard work, cleaning dishes, taking care of pets, scrubbing toilets, and washing cars. This year the students raised more than $770, a record amount!

After collecting their funds, the third-grade classes took a field trip to Nob Hill to purchase food. In total, their contributions were enough to fill food bins for eleven families in need. All of the students are very proud to have helped out their community and are looking forward to the next opportunity to help out. Many, many thanks to everyone involved!
