Oakwood School kindergarten students are getting an early start on fall with lots of apple fun! The classroom has been busy exploring, creating, experimenting, and cooking with apples.

:deciduous_tree: Apple Tree Adventures
Students learned about the life cycle of an apple tree, from tiny buds and blossoms to growing and ripening apples. Student engineers also created their own apple trees using toilet paper rolls, popsicle sticks, and pompoms.

:test_tube: Apple Scientists
Students conducted an apple experiment by placing apple slices in oil, soda, vinegar, and water. Students made predictions and then observed how the apple slices reacted in each liquid.

:green_apple: Homemade Applesauce
Students made homemade applesauce and practiced following directions, sequencing steps, using their senses, and enjoying a delicious creation!

:womans_hat: Johnny Appleseed
Students learned about Johnny Appleseed and his connection to apple trees. Instead of putting themselves in his shoes, students put themselves in his cooking pot hat!

What a fun way to welcome fall! Oakwood kindergarten students are excited for all the exploring, creating, and learning still to come. Happy Fall!
