Back-to-School Family Social Brings Hawks Together

The Oakwood School community kicked off the first full week of school with the annual Back-to-School Family Social.

Starting earlier this year, the event drew an even bigger crowd than usual, with families filling the campus with excitement as they reconnected with old friends and welcomed new ones to Oakwood. The evening buzzed with fun: carnival games, obstacle course and jumpy slide inflatables, tasty bites from local food trucks, student fundraisers, and the always-popular cake walk.

One of the biggest hits of the night was the new Splash Tower, where students got the ultimate thrill of soaking their favorite teachers, coaches, staff, and even the associate head of school, Dr. Helvey. Thanks to the warm weather, some activities moved into the Barn to keep things cool, while carnival games and booths set up in shaded spots around campus offered a welcome break from the heat.

Special thanks to our parent and student volunteers, as well as those who donated sweet treats for the cake walk, for helping make the afternoon such a splash. Here’s to a fantastic new school year—welcome back, Hawks!
