College Counseling Night for the Class of 2027

Oakwood High School Director of College Counseling Kevin Krasnow led an informative session for 11th grade students and their parents and guardians during a College Night in the Theatre on Monday, January 12, 2026.

Mr. Krasnow shared guidance on building a balanced college list, explaining how a thoughtfully curated selection increases the likelihood of finding a college where students feel engaged and excited. Using three sample college lists, he led a discussion on the benefits and considerations of different approaches. The evening also addressed writing impactful college essays, researching financial aid opportunities, and understanding application options, including Early Action, Early Decision, and Regular Decision.

The session provided families with practical tools and clarity as they begin the college planning process, reinforcing Oakwood School’s commitment to supporting students in identifying colleges that are the right fit academically, socially, and financially.
