Exploring Language Mechanics: 2nd Grade Participates in Contraction Surgery

Second grade students at Oakwood Elementary recently visited Oakwood Hospital for an immersive contraction surgery day. The morning was dedicated to an engaging activity where students diligently worked on their Patient Surgical Records book. They skillfully practiced the art of creating contractions by removing letters and then enthusiastically crafted sentences utilizing these contractions. It was a hands-on learning experience that fostered their understanding of language mechanics in an exciting and interactive manner.
