Oakwood School's 2025 FIRST LEGO League Challenge competition showcased the teamwork and problem-solving skills of 5th grade students, marking the culmination of weeks spent building, programming, and testing their team robots.

Eight teams, each consisting of approximately five students, collaborated in Mrs. Lyle’s technology class to design and program robots to complete tasks based on the challenge theme, Masterpiece. Using motors, sensors, and programming skills, the students created robots that autonomously navigated the field and interacted with mission models to earn points.

One of FIRST’s core philosophies, gracious professionalism, was evident throughout the event, as students cheered each other on and shared in the emotional rollercoaster of competition. High school robotics students refereed and judged the competition, offering valuable feedback and encouragement to their younger peers. Mr. Lyle, Upper School STEM Electives Teacher, served as emcee for the event, guiding the tournament and keeping the excitement high.

Congratulations to all participants on their achievements!
