From Page to Stage: Beneath the Surface of Between the Lines

Oakwood High School's “Between the Lines” was a sold-out performance. It offered something for everyone to enjoy: catchy tunes, witty dialogue, a romantic plot, and even a song-and-dance number. For some of the actors, this was their final performance under Mrs. Blanchard’s expert guidance as head of the Oakwood theater department. Everyone involved gave their maximum effort, leaving nothing unspent, inspiring the audience with their incredible musical and acting talents. Like an iceberg hidden beneath the surface of the ocean, the musical’s success required a tremendous amount of unseen energy. The set design and construction crew, costume design, lighting, sound, and stage movement were all essential for a successful musical production. All of these moving parts and preparations came together beautifully. A special thanks to the parent volunteers and faculty members who donated their time to the program, and to all of the students who gave it their all both on and off the stage.
