Girls Tennis Shows Improvement Despite Loss
Despite the outcome of the match between the Oakwood Hawks Girls Varsity Tennis team and Alisal High School, the Hawks showed great improvement and a strong team effort.
Although the Hawks were defeated by a score of 1-6, seniors Mysha Bhatti and Kiera Gallagher showed great team effort and won their match in straight sets by scores of 6-3, 6-2.
Senior Mysha stated, “Keira and I worked as a team to secure the win.” She also stated she felt “really strong and cool” winning this match. Additionally, although sophomore Lara Merghani lost her match, she showed great improvement and perseverance. She stated, “Even though it wasn’t the outcome I wanted, I learned a lot.”
Head of the tennis team Coach Al Ganir stated, “The team is starting to play better. We lost, but the Oakwood girls played more competitively. They are winning more games per match."
