Girls Varsity Tennis Season Begins!
The Oakwood High School Girls Varsity Tennis Team played their inaugural season match this week against St. Francis Catholic High School. Every member displayed tremendous dedication and determination throughout the game. The standout performance of the day came from Doubles 1 players Clara Shem-Tov and Ruby Salvatti. Their match against St. Francis was nothing short of a rollercoaster ride. The first set concluded with an intense 7-point tiebreaker, which Clara and Ruby won. The St. Francis team fought back, capturing the second set and forcing a decisive third set with a 10-point tiebreaker. The tiebreaker started neck and neck. However, as the set unfolded, the St. Francis players began to slowly pull away, winning the set with a score of 10-4.
The tennis players continue improving, which will make for an exciting season! Come watch their next home match on Thursday, September 14, against Rancho San Juan High School.
