High School Students Honor Spanish Culture, Celebrate La Día de Los Muertos

Recently, Oakwood High School Spanish students celebrated La Día de Los Muertos to appreciate Spanish-speaking countries' cultures and traditions. Throughout the week, students honored historical figures or loved ones who had passed away by bringing pictures, memorable objects, and offerings to a colorfully decorated altar in the High School building. Here, students each delivered a short speech about the individual they wished to honor and listen to their peers' presentations and touching stories. Then, the students watched a film about  La Día de Los Muertos while they enjoyed culturally significant foods, such as Mexican sweet bread and homemade horchata!
