The Oakwood High School swim team kicked off the 2025–26 season with a strong performance at Alvarez High School on March 4, despite the long, cold meet.

The boys relay teams led the way: Lucas, Max, Victor, and Porter won the 200 Medley Relay, and Porter, Davit, Lucas, and Shayan took 3rd in the 200 Free Relay while breaking the Oakwood school record by more than 10 seconds.

Individual standouts included several record-breakers and podium finishers. Avi won the 50 free and 100 back, setting a new Oakwood record in the 50 free. Lucas won the 200 free and set a new Oakwood record and personal best in the 100 fly. Max won both the 200 IM and 100 back. Victor took 1st in the 50 free and was just out-touched in the 100 free. Porter placed 2nd in the 50 free. Davit dropped over three seconds in the 50 free and matched his previous time in the 100 free. Shayan took 3rd in his first-ever 200 free. Allison placed 2nd in both the 50 and 100 freestyle, posting big personal bests in both. Ria earned 3rd place in her first-ever 200 Individual Medley.

Great start, Hawks — and if any girls are interested in joining the team so Oakwood can field women's relays, there is still time to sign up!
