Honors Precalculus Classes Play with Probability
The culmination of the first semester in Honors Precalculus saw Oakwood High School students applying their mastered probability concepts to the creation of carnival games. Each team was tasked with developing a game for the entire class to play, meticulously calculating the probabilities of winning, and offering prizes to the successful participants. This hands-on project provided an engaging opportunity for students to delve deeper into the realm of probability and chance. One student reflected on the experience, noting, "This project definitely made me understand probability better. It was interesting to see the complexity that went into the game probability as it was easy to figure out the rules and how to play the game but the probability behind it was harder than expected."
