Junior Calla Cavanagh Directed Children's Summer Camp Show

Over the summer, I worked at APJCC, a summer camp in Los Gatos, where my position was titled Musical Theater Specialist. I got the opportunity to help the musical theater summer camp put on two shows over one month, and I did this by creating my own show, choreographing and staging all aspects of it, and directing my campers on what to do. I used all my skills that I’ve learned over the years in theater classes at Oakwood, especially my experience directing the high school play Radium Girls. All my experience and knowledge I’ve gained over the years allowed me to successfully produce two shows this summer, and it’s an experience I won’t ever forget, for not only does it further my goal of becoming a director, but I was also able to learn more from this experience of working with kids, and strengthen my leading and creating skills.
