JV Volleyball dominates Live Oak in Cross Town Matchup

After a highly anticipated matchup, the Oakwood High School Girls JV Volleyball team claimed victory against their cross-town rivals the Live Oak Acorns, winning in two sets with scores of 25-13 and 25-12.
Sophomore Gabriella Zelenyak led the Hawks’ offense, contributing 7 points from her serves and delivering 4 aces.
On defense, Freshmen Ria Deshpande and Avani Kumar excelled in the second set, making key digs and sets to help secure a win.
They also were led on offense by Freshman Sophia Wong who contributed with multiple kills against the Acorns.
After the game, Oakwood JV Head Coach Alyssa Sugai was overjoyed, saying, “I’m really proud of the girls. They’re an amazing group and everyone contributed!”
