Kinder & 3rd Grade Team Up for Snowman Fun

Oakwood School kindergarten and 3rd grade buddies teamed up for a hands-on winter project to build snowmen together. The 3rd grade students took on the role of teachers, carefully reviewing picture clues and reading aloud multi-step directions to guide their kindergarten buddies through each part of the process.

Once the snowman bodies were built, buddies decorated them with an assortment of buttons, carrot noses, hats, scarves, and arms to give each snowman its own unique personality. No two snowmen were alike—fancy, silly, and everything in between—and all looked well loved.

This buddy activity was a wonderful example of leadership, collaboration, and joyful learning across grade levels at Oakwood School.
