Kindergarten Students Learn about Diwali from Special Guest Speaker

The Oakwood School kindergarten classes enjoyed a visit last week from a special guest, Mrs. Chopra. As a parent of kindergarten and 3rd grade students at Oakwood, she graciously took the time to share with the classes the significance of the Diwali festival. This vibrant celebration holds great importance for families in countries such as India, Pakistan, and Sri Lanka.

During her presentation, Mrs. Chopra captivated the students by sharing authentic photos from her own family celebrations in India. Additionally, she brought the magic of Diwali to life through readings from carefully selected books that delved into the customs and traditions observed by her family. To make the experience even more memorable, Mrs. Chopra treated the students to taste special Diwali delights, including cookies and plantain chips.
