Kindergarten Visits Spina Farms

Oakwood School Kindergarten families visited Spina Farms to learn all about fall's most popular squash and how they grow from a seed into a large pumpkin. They enjoyed a short educational program followed by a hayride through the stages of pumpkin growth, where bees and butterflies play an important part in pollinating the big yellow-orange flowers. Kindergarteners also got a train ride to see many different dinosaurs and scarecrows. Each student selected their very own pumpkin from the patch to bring back to school, where they measured, weighed, and wrote about it before taking home to enjoy. Thank you to all our wonderful parents for making this day so memorable!
