La Belle Vie! The Good Life!
With 25 world-class travelers full of curiosity and enthusiasm, the Oakwood High School trip to France promised to be an unforgettable adventure. Glorious springtime weather greeted the group upon arrival and stayed with them throughout the weeklong visit, setting the tone for a vibrant and enriching experience.
The group’s knowledgeable tour guide, Nadia, prioritized engagement with history and culture. Her expertise in navigating Paris—whether by Métro or on foot—helped students feel at home and confident exploring during their free time.
A well-balanced itinerary offered hands-on activities such as bread baking, a game of pétanque, and drawing classes in Montmartre, alongside cultural immersion in local neighborhoods, where students met residents and learned about their heritage and traditions. Cuddling baby goats in Normandy added a memorable twist, while classic pursuits like exploring museums (Le Louvre), churches (Sainte-Chapelle), and monuments (La Tour Eiffel and Mont-Saint-Michel) deepened the group’s appreciation of French history and art.
The week was punctuated by delicious food, lots of laughter, and the joy of shared discovery—la belle vie
