Oakwood Middle School’s recent production of 10 Ways to Survive the Zombie Apocalypse showcased the creativity, confidence, and collaborative spirit of its middle school theater students. The fast-paced comedy by Don Zolidis offered a lighthearted look at the end of the world, filled with unexpected survival strategies, quick-witted narration, and plenty of laughs.

Performed by an ensemble cast of Oakwood Middle School students, the show featured a series of short scenes that explored humorous approaches to escaping a zombie invasion—from playing dead to sacrificing the weak (strictly for comedy, of course). Each student brought unique energy to the stage, with expressive performances and sharp comedic timing that kept the audience thoroughly entertained.

The production made effective use of simple props, creative costumes, and student-run technical support. Backstage and on stage, students worked together to bring the show to life while demonstrating responsibility, adaptability, and teamwork.

Oakwood’s theater program continues to provide students with opportunities to develop performance skills in a supportive and engaging environment. 10 Ways to Survive the Zombie Apocalypse was a clear example of the joy and growth that come from creative collaboration—and a reminder that even in the face of imaginary doom, Oakwood students know how to shine.
