Model United Nations Club Celebrates an Outstanding Year

The Model United Nations Club, one of over 50 clubs at Oakwood, celebrates its 13th year of promoting diplomacy and international relations. This year's team, led by club President Brady Kurimoto, competed in two conferences. In January, Oakwood sent 16 students to the 55th annual Santa Clara Valley Model UN Conference, representing the countries of India and South Korea. In February, 3 students competed in the Nueva Conference, where sophomore Ellie Mendoza took home an Honorable Mention prize for representing the United States. The club will continue to meet weekly through the end of April, holding a mock conference on Safeguarding Human Rights against Drone and AI Surveillance.
