Oakwood Middle School just finished their musical, Newsies Jr. So many people enjoyed the show, directed by Mrs. Blanchard. The cast of almost 40 students had so much fun and created unbreakable bonds. Throughout the show, students learned how to act, dance, and sing. Their stage confidence grew along with their appreciation and respect for each other. They learned how to work together as a team, especially when something went wrong. The cast was very talented and excited to showcase all the hard work they put into the show.
“I had so much fun putting the show together. It was one of my favorite musicals I’ve ever been a part of and I’m so glad I had the opportunity. Everyone was so encouraging towards each other and I think that helped make everyone comfortable in their roles. Throughout the show, I’ve made so many new friendships and memories that I will never forget,” - Lucie H., 8th grade
“I'm so grateful for this experience. I was so scared 8th grade was going to be a challenging year, but this production made it so much better than I ever thought it would be. I made so many unbreakable bonds with so many people. I will always remember the memories that I've shared with the cast throughout the show and learned so many valuable skills. I am so happy and this honestly made me such a better person,“ - Kyah B., 8th grade
