Oakwood 3rd Grade Honors Veterans
This week, Oakwood School 3rd grade students learned firsthand about honoring our veterans through the “White Table” tradition, which they explored through a class reading of America’s White Table by Margot Raven. In observance of this tradition, the students set up a “white table” on campus adorned with symbolic items as a meaningful reminder of the sacrifices made by people who have served their country, as well as the impact that serving has had on their family and friends. The students, along with the rest of the Oakwood community, were invited to contribute by adding names or photos of family members or friends who have served or are currently serving. It was a very special and meaningful time spent together as the 3rd Grade discussed the significant service that men and women have provided and continue to provide to keep our country safe.
