Language is at its core a way to share stories and build community. Bringing this fact to life, Oakwood High School's AP French students engaged in conversation with alumna Ruby Salvatti, Class of 2024, who had just returned from studying in Lyon, France. This opportunity to learn firsthand about French practices and beliefs was best suited to take place in an authentic environment. Lawson's Bakery provided a genuine taste of France while offering the tradition of an outdoor cafe ambiance. It was an ideal place for a frank exchange of ideas and perspectives. Students were able to deepen their cultural knowledge while making meaningful connections with each other.
