On February 25, Oakwood High School's badminton program made history by hosting its first-ever scrimmage, taking on Live Oak in a milestone event for the growing team. Though informal in setting, the competition was intense from the opening serve. Players remained focused throughout the afternoon, competing with composure and determination as the Oakwood team stepped onto the court as part of an inaugural official program.

The High School Boys Singles lineup exhibited dominant performances to open the scrimmage. Aakash Shakya led with a commanding 21–5 victory, while Adhrit Sinha followed with an impressive 21–2 win. Jay He added another strong performance, securing a 21–12 victory. Their consistency and sharp shot placement set the tone early for Oakwood.

In doubles play, Oakwood showcased teamwork and resilience. Aakash Shakya and Adhrit Sinha highlighted the event with a hard-fought three-set comeback victory, winning 17–21, 21–15, 21–19. Kevin Joel Garner and Mason Nishimura contributed with a solid 21–17 win, while Sai Nagendra and Jay He edged out a thrilling 22–20 victory in one of the closest matches of the day.

The High School Girls Singles match added another win to Oakwood's tally, as Mona Sadat-Razavi closed out her match with a strong 21–17 performance, ending the scrimmage on a high note.

While the event will go down as a scrimmage in the record books, it represented something much larger for Oakwood athletics — the official beginning of a new program and the foundation for seasons to come.
