Oakwood Boys Varsity Tennis Wins Opener
The Oakwood Boys Varsity Tennis won their season opener vs Palma at Oakwood School, 4-3, on Thursday, March 20. The boys won two singles and two doubles matches, all by very close scores. Senior Arnav Praveen came out with a tight victory, winning in straight sets 7:5 and 6:4. Senior Ramana Sundaram won 7:6, 6:7, 10:4. Sundaram won his first match, narrowly dropped the second, and won the tiebreaker to give Oakwood another singles victory. Seniors Aadjot Sidhu and Rohan Wilmot won a doubles match 6:3, 6:3, and freshman Abhinav Praveen and senior Rohan Rajagopalan added a doubles victory, dropping the first set 1-6, but then won 6-1 in their next set and taking the tiebreaker for the win. Seniors Kishan Patel and Dhruv Rajagopalan played well but came up just short in doubles. Patel commented on his team's overall performance, “doubles one played really well, and our singles was really [good] too.”
