Oakwood High School Brings Down the House with Footloose!
Oakwood High School’s spring musical, Footloose, was a resounding success, with all performances selling out and drawing record-high attendance from both the Oakwood community and beyond. The show’s energetic choreography, powerful vocals, and heartfelt performances had audiences ready to cut loose and dance in their seats, making it a truly unforgettable production.
Under the outstanding direction of Colleen Blanchard, the production showcased the exceptional talents of the cast, who brought depth and authenticity to their beloved characters. Their performances of iconic numbers such as Holding Out for a Hero, Let’s Hear It for the Boy, and the electrifying title track, Footloose, left the audience cheering.
A production of this scale would not have been possible without the generous support of parents, families, and community members who contributed their time, resources, and talents. From set construction to backstage assistance, their dedication was instrumental in bringing Footloose to life. A special shoutout goes to Jason Leong for creating the show’s iconic van, which became a standout element of the production.
