Oakwood Hosts Exciting Middle School Girls Holiday Hoopin' Tournament

The Oakwood Middle School Girls Basketball team hosted an inaugural Holiday Hoopin' tournament on Saturday, December 14, delivering an exciting day of basketball with ten teams competing, including school teams and NJB travel squads. Oakwood shined throughout the tournament, showcasing depth across their roster. A standout moment came when 8th grade point guard Sophia B. scored an incredible 41 points in a single game, helping the Hawks top 60 points in that matchup. In a thrilling finale, the Oakwood Lady Hawks claimed second place, narrowly falling to NJB team JR’s Crew.
The tournament highlighted the skills and sportsmanship of all teams, making it a memorable event for players and fans alike. Oakwood’s impressive performance and the exciting matchups set the stage for what promises to be a fun annual tradition!
