Oakwood Middle School 7th Grade Girls Become SBAL Track & Field League Champs!

Oakwood Middle School's 7th grade girls track and field team claimed the SBAL League Championship in dominant fashion, placing 1st in every event they entered at the meet hosted by Monte Vista Christian School.

The team swept all running events, pulling away from the field with a 7-second margin in the 4x100m relay, a 2-second lead in the 200m, and commanding performances in the 800m and 1600m. In the field events, students claimed 1st through 3rd place in the high jump and 1st and 2nd in the long jump.

Standout performances came from Emma P., who cleared 4'6" to win the high jump and set a new school record; Seraphina P., who posted a blazing 31.05 seconds in the 200m to claim another school record; Tara W., who swept all distance running events; and Hailey S., who took 1st place in the 100m.

The team set 7 school records on the day across the 200m, 400m, 800m, 60m hurdles, 4x100m relay, high jump, and long jump — a remarkable performance that reflects both the talent and depth of this group.
