Oakwood Middle School Honors Its 8th Grade Students at Promotion Ceremony

On May 22, Oakwood Middle School gathered to celebrate the promotion of its 8th grade class, a milestone marking the close of one chapter and the beginning of something new.

Student speakers Akshara A., Carlos P., Remy D., and Arianna S. each took a moment to look back on the years that brought them here, offering reflections that were by turns funny, heartfelt, and surprisingly wise. Together, their words painted a portrait of a class that grew not just academically, but in character.

Faculty speaker Derek Denny offered remarks that captured what made this particular group of students so memorable, their resilience, their humor, and the way they showed up for one another even when the path wasn't easy. It was a tribute that clearly resonated with students and families alike.
