Oakwood Middle School Shines in Something Rotten Jr. Performance
Oakwood Middle School’s production of Something Rotten Jr. on February 13 and 14 was a fun and entertaining show that highlighted the students’ hard work and enthusiasm. The cast brought great energy to the stage, making the musical’s humor and catchy songs enjoyable for the audience.
Miriam S. gave a strong performance as Nick Bottom, leading the show with confidence, while Landon H. made an impressive theatrical debut as Nigel Bottom. Charlotte H. brought great comedic timing to her role as Nostradamus, and Emma T. added charm as Portia. Brandt B. delivered a lively and charismatic take on Shakespeare, and the ensemble worked well together to bring the story to life. A special highlight was the cameo appearance by Middle School science teacher Mr. Keith Hayden as the Master of Justice, which delighted the audience and added an extra layer of fun to the performance.
Directed by Colleen Blanchard and student director Cate Pace, the production was well-organized, with staging that allowed each performer to shine. The musical numbers were engaging, with fun choreography and well-rehearsed vocals that kept the audience entertained. Overall, Something Rotten Jr. was a great effort from the students and a fun experience for those who attended.
