The Oakwood School robotics teams showcased their talent and innovation during a FIRST Tech Challenge tournament on Saturday, January 25. FIRST Tech Challenge is a robotics competition where students design, build, and program a robot to compete alongside and against other student-led teams.

In their second year competing in the league, Techie Pizza, the upper elementary and middle school after-school robotics team distinguished themselves by impressing judges with their command of computer vision and robot autonomy, and their iterative mechanical design process.

The High School team, BOOM SHAKA LAKA, secured a position in the semifinals through their collaborative team approach and innovative transfer mechanism allowing them to consistently perform on the field.

These achievements not only underscore the incredible talent within Oakwood School's engineering teams but also serve as a testament to their dedication to pushing the boundaries of innovation. Beyond representing their school, these teams inspire a broader interest in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) disciplines as they actively engage in competitive robotics and outreach in the community. Congratulations to all the students and mentors involved for their hard work and outstanding performance!
