College Board has announced that Oakwood School has been named to the 2025 Advanced Placement® Program (AP®) School Honor Roll, earning Platinum distinction, the highest level of recognition awarded.

Platinum distinction places Oakwood School among the top 5 percent of high schools in the United States, recognizing exceptional outcomes in both AP participation and performance. The AP School Honor Roll honors schools whose Advanced Placement programs deliver strong academic results while expanding access and opportunity for students. Schools earn this annual recognition based on criteria that reflect a commitment to fostering a college-going culture, increasing opportunities to earn college credit, and maximizing college readiness.

Oakwood School currently offers 18 AP courses, taught by 11 dedicated faculty members, ensuring students have access to a wide range of rigorous, college-level learning experiences.

  • 100% of Oakwood School Class of 2025 graduates completed one or more AP courses during high school.

  • 85% of Oakwood School Class of 2025 graduates completed five or more AP courses, demonstrating sustained academic rigor.

  • 92% of Oakwood School Class of 2025 graduates earned a 3 or higher or one or more AP exams, reflecting strong mastery of college-level content.

“AP gives students the opportunity to engage with college-level work, earn college credit and placement, and build professional skills they can use no matter what path they choose after high school,” said Trevor Packer, head of the AP Program. “Congratulations to this year’s AP School Honor Roll recipients for proving it’s possible to expand participation in these rigorous courses while maintaining strong performance.”

Oakwood School offers a college-preparatory program grounded in high academic expectations and balanced by robust arts, athletics, and community engagement. Faculty members utilize hands-on projects, cross-curricular learning, and innovative instructional approaches, while small class sizes allow for personalized attention and the development of individual strengths within a values-centered learning environment.
