Oakwood High School's swim team recently had a fantastic performance at their meet, and it's no surprise given the dedication and hard work put in by the swimmers and Coach Jaime. During warmup, Coach Jaime worked with each swimmer to improve their starts, turns, and stroke techniques, resulting in rapid improvements for the entire team.

In particular, the men's 200yd medley relay team consisting of Simon Blanchard, Lucas Tompkins, Vlad Zaitsau, and Lee Stilwell won first place, showcasing their impressive teamwork and coordination. Additionally, the men's 400yd relay team (Luke Hansotte, Vlad Zaitsau, Lucas Tompkins, and Simon Blanchard) placed second, with Luke Hansotte also achieving fourth place in the men's 100yd freestyle.

There were also impressive individual performances, with Simon Blanchard winning the men's 100yd backstroke and placing fifth in the men's 100yd breaststroke. Lee Stilwell placed second in the men's 50yd freestyle and fifth in the men's 100yd freestyle, while Vlad Zaitsau achieved third place in the men's 50yd freestyle and fourth in the men's 100yd breaststroke.

Perhaps the standout performance of the meet was from Lucas Tompkins, who not only won first in the 200yd Individual Medley with a personal best but also set a new Oakwood team record of 2:10.59! He continued his success with a first-place finish in the men's 100yd Breaststroke.

The women's team also had a strong showing, with Maddison Lara debuting this season with two-lifetime personal bests and two first-place wins in the women's 50yd freestyle and 100yd freestyle. Meanwhile, Maddy Weltchek set two new Oakwood team records and achieved a personal best time in the women's 100yd butterfly (1:00.07) and 100yd Breaststroke (1:08.16), earning her a spot in the CCS in both events.

Congratulations to all the Oakwood School swimmers for their hard work and impressive performances!
