Oakwood Students Compete in HPE Code Wars
On Saturday, March 1, three teams from Oakwood High School’s AP Computer Science A and Advanced Computer Science classes arrived at school bright and early at 7:00 am to compete in Code Wars, a virtual coding competition hosted by Hewlett-Packard.
Team Smoove Boys, comprised of juniors Ryan Beaulieu, Kayden Wang, and Robin Klingauf, competed in the Advanced Division. In the Novice Division, the Fluffy Unicorns—including sophomores Brendan Lyle, Adhrit Sinha, and Jeremy Pedler—fully embraced their team spirit, dressing to match their whimsical name. The Debug Divas, featuring junior Bella Gregory and sophomores Amanda Olson and Kate Praserthdam, also competed in the Novice Division.
For three intense hours, all teams tackled complex coding challenges in Java. Their hard work paid off, with the Fluffy Unicorns securing an impressive third place overall.
Congratulations to all participants for their dedication and problem-solving skills!
