Second Grade Performs Clever, Comedic Musical The Principal and the Pea

Oakwood School’s 2nd grade students delighted audiences this spring with their performance of The Principal and the Pea, a hilarious twist on the classic fairy tale. The musical followed a group of students who devise a clever plan to choose a new principal when their teachers can’t decide—resulting in a story that truly did “peas” the audience.

Inspired by The Princess and the Pea, the show featured a lively cast, catchy songs, and plenty of laugh-out-loud moments. Simple, creative costumes and props allowed the students’ personalities to shine. The result was a fun, memorable celebration of storytelling and student voice—reflecting Oakwood School’s commitment to confident self-expression.
