On Monday, May 4, Oakwood High School celebrated its Spring Senior Night, recognizing the dedication and achievements of senior athletes from Boys Volleyball, Track, and Swimming. The evening followed an exciting Boys Varsity Volleyball victory over Kirby High School, setting a triumphant tone for the festivities that followed.

Students, families, friends, and fans filled the gym to cheer on the seniors and reflect on their contributions to Oakwood's athletic program. Following tradition, the Kirby seniors were recognized first for their dedication to the sport.

Oakwood then turned the spotlight on its own remarkable senior class. Stephanie Chen was honored for her contributions to the track team, where she discovered a love for the sport during her senior year and built lasting friendships along the way. Lucas Tompkins was recognized for swimming, having dedicated himself to the pool both as an athlete and a teammate, and will continue his swimming career at the Division 1 level at Saint Mary's College of California. Luke Hansotte was celebrated for his impressive dual-sport achievements in both swimming and volleyball, having served as a leader and teammate across two programs. Finally, Dhruvil Patel was honored for his four years with the Boys Volleyball team, where he made an enormous impact through both playing and coaching.

The evening was a heartfelt tribute to the hard work, perseverance, and team spirit of these graduating seniors. Oakwood is proud to honor their dedication, teamwork, and commitment to the school's athletic program. Special thanks go to Boys Volleyball Coach Shaneen Monaco, Swimming Coaches Jaime Tompkins and Van Welchek, and Track Coach Anthony Ruiz, as well as Athletic Director Dave Clink and Assistant Athletic Director Kort Jensen, for their leadership and support throughout the season. A heartfelt thank-you also goes out to Oakwood faculty and staff, along with the parents and fans whose unwavering support has meant so much to the athletes all season long.

Congratulations to Stephanie, Lucas, Luke, and Dhruvil — your legacy at Oakwood will not be forgotten. Best of luck as you take the next exciting steps in your journeys!
